![]() Its actual full VR with a small-ish (compared to VorpX) performance hit! Nono, you are getting it totally wrong it has nothing to do with that or what VorpX does. >I don’t think it was for UE5 but I am not interested in 3DTV gaming in VR You are just thinking about a later period in PC gaming. PC gaming at the start was being called dead by many people as consoles were vastly more popular and had way more games, while the PC market was fractured and small, so not so different. >Of course it boomed cause it essentially didn’t exist in any shape or form that was believebly desired by customers. VRChat hasn’t racked millions in debt like SEGA did, and they aren’t dragging 2 failed projects on their backs weighting them down either. Technically true, but definitely not the case here. >Platforms can be dead, despite ever growing user base. That was fun 10 years ago with VorpX and first attempts of running games in VR i’m fully done with gamepad/m&k gaming. Very few titles have motion controls, and even then it has nothing to do with even DrBeef Quest ports it’s just games being rendered in 3D with head tracking enabled. I don’t think it was for UE5 but I am not interested in 3DTV gaming in VR. > check out the injector people are working on for UE4/5 games That’s no different than 2-3 years ago lol. ![]() Since over half of PCVR are using standalone Quest, accessing PCVR is a thing of curiosity – the numbers of concurrent users on VRLFG is 8189. Every day there are dozens of thousands gaming PCs sold and regularly used – it’s nothing like PCVR. > For now it seems to be growing at around the same rate as PC gaming did. Of course it boomed cause it essentially didn’t exist in any shape or form that was believebly desired by customers. Oh, so now it boomed? I’m pretty sure you said before that pre-2012 it doesn’t really count. > I’d say in the last decade it has boomed compared More people experienced Dreamcast way after it died thanks to emulation and preservation. Platforms can be dead, despite ever growing user base. > Even if they had stayed at the same number for the last 3 years it wouldn’t be dying either. (Btw, I don’t know if I mentioned this to you yet, check out the injector people are working on for UE4/5 games! I’m quite excited about that lately!) Haven’t bought it yet though, sooo many games to go through first. I don’t know why, but I had Vertigo 2 on my wishlist, and… I have no idea how it got there lol I don’t think I ever heard about it until it came out. They are way more enthusiastic with their mobile PC atm though, that’s for sure. Valve works on ValveTime™, so who the hell knows when they will release something new. Yeah, I think I agree with you on that partially. Even highly praised vertigo 2 has laughable numbers. >Been months or years since i told you that valve don’t care about vr and still nothing has changed. It could also can be that the % of total people playing VRChat is going down, but the actual number of people to be going up! >So is the vrchat getting more users, or pcvr? For now it seems to be growing at around the same rate as PC gaming did. Problem is, people thought this was going to grow like phones did, and it just won’t. I’d say in the last decade it has boomed compared to the 10 years before that. We didn’t? Damn, we have so many threads going on sometimes that is hard to keep track at all. >I don’t think we ever finished the conversation about when pcvr started. Even if they had stayed at the same number for the last 3 years it wouldn’t be dying either. Its just that when things are growing in numbers, is the literal opposite of dying. >According to you PCVR isn’t dead as long as one person is still using it. The studio says it will be more complex, as content will need to be rebuilt for the iOS platform since it uses a different graphics framework. VRChat on iOS however is expected later, with more details to follow. The full public launch on Google Play is expected in three to six months after the beta release, the studio says. ![]() Beta access is expected to arrive to VRChat Plus members in three to four months. ![]() VRChat on Android Mobile will only be available to VRChat Plus subscribers, the studio says, offering it as a beta to polish UI and UX before a full public launch. Here’s a quick look at an early build, which the studio stresses isn’t a final version: The company says in a developer blog that while there’s still no release date on the books, the Android version has already been used by team members to attend large meetings.Īdditionally, the Android version will support any world or avatar that works on Meta Quest, since the standalone also runs Android. VRChat, the popular social VR platform, announced that flatscreen ports for both Android and iOS are currently in development. ![]()
